Some suggested charities are the Salvation Army (my favorite), March of Dimes, and Habitat for Humanity. Most cities have local food closets and thrift stores. Churches in your area are likely sponsoring these, as well as various missions and local community disaster relief. Ask around, you'll find many who can really use your help.

History:
The Cecil Scheme took shape while I was working on an update to a Scheme called 'Evil Breakfast GreyScale.' My pet dragon, Cecil, hated the Scheme, calling it "boring grey and blue crap." (Dragons, contrary to popular belief, are often ineloquent and rude.)
Cecil began coding a companion to EB GreyScale, which he named "Cecil." (Dragons are also vain.) The EB GreyScale was completely overhauled, renamed "1984" and is no longer boring crap.
Many revisions and several clawed up keyboards later, Cecil (the Scheme) underwent so major a transformation we decided to change its name to 'the Revenge.'
Then came Kaleidoscope 2...
K2 allows for greater color control and unusual window shapes. Cecil and I began coding right away. Within a week we had a workable version of Cecil III for the Kaleidoscope Scheme Archive. Within two weeks we were not speaking to each other again.
Grab Tabsｨ:
Cecil III makes use of Grab Tabsｨ. Grab Tabsｨ are fun. They're good looking. They're more useful to me than Llamas! And Grab Tabsｨ are included free with this scheme, while sadly, Llamas are not. Next time you're moving and resizing a window, try using the Grab Tabｨ at the bottom of the window frame. Now wasn't that easy?
Remember, if the Readme doesn't say Grab Tabsｨ, it's not the real thing!

Included with this scheme is a resource for use with PowerBar Pro. The original was sent to me by Tyler Regas. I modified the resource to better match the final version of the scheme. Follow the instructions that came with PowerBar Pro.
Folder Icon Maker:
Also included with this Scheme is a resource (Cecil.FIM) for use with Folder Icon Maker 1.5 and greater. Follow the instructions that came with Folder Icon Maker to create custom icons based on Cecil's folder design.
Icon Extras:
In addition to the standard assortment of file and hard drive icons, Cecil III comes with several folder icons to suppliment those in the scheme itself. All of the previously released icons have been tweaked for better display. These icons are designed to be viewed LARGE. Please do not email asking for a custom icon. I don't do that anymore. If you need help using the custom icons, try a book called "The Macintosh Bible." I am not tech support.

In case you are one of the unfortunates who tried visiting my web page from the link at the KSA, let me assure you that my Kaleidoscope pages are gone, never to return. Since this is my last and final scheme, I have decided to stop distributing and supporting schemes from my personal pages. The page you reached is a joke-- so lighten up already.

I want to use a dark background, but there are light colored thingies on the corners of windows and icons!
Cecil and its associated icons have been anti-aliased to improve appearance against light colored backgrounds. So use a light colored background or use a different scheme.

When the windows get really, really small, they don't draw properly.
That's true of every scheme. I have, at the suggestion of a user, improved Cecil III's ability to draw small windows. With version 2.0, I have worked to improve the display of utility windows.

They sure are. But it was the last change Cecil made to the scheme before he... (*sniff*) ...passed.
Your scheme looks awful with my 4-bit Macintosh II Video Card.
Everything looks awful in 4-bits. You'll have to throw your Macintosh II computer off a cliff. I'm sorry, rules are rules. This scheme was designed to look good at a minimum of 8-bit grayscale (256 grays) or 16-bit color (thousands of colors.) Using this scheme at improper bit depths can lower your I.Q. by 30 points. Please do not ask for 1-bit or 4-bit support.
I have a IIsi, LC, Color Classic, etc. that I would like to throw off a cliff.
I was joking about the cliff thing. There are always uses for a functional Mac, and many broken Macs can be recycled. A non-funtional Mac II, for example, makes a great litter box. (My cat, Hannah, loves hers.) And I'm sure you've all seen plans on the Net for making aquariums out of old compact Mac designs. If you own a non- funtional IIsi or LC, maybe the cliff isn't such a bad idea...
Why the attitude in this part of the Readme file?
I aplogize if you feel my attitude is unneccessary, but many people who email seem to think I am their employee. I am making no profit from this scheme, so I have created something I want. I can't please everybody. I do accept bug reports, constructive criticism and suggestions, but do not expect me to change everything to suit you.

*Little Guilt Shrine ( http://www.digimag.com/lgs/index.htm ) didn't really contribute to the making of this scheme, but their music kept me in good humor when ResEdit failed to. Sadly, Little Guilt Shrine played their last concert in Ceasar Chavez Park, Sacramento on July 10th. I'm gonna miss them.
